The closure of primary school was a different experience for me than most kids. When most girls were sharing gossip, and the boys were still running around like maniacs, I was sitting alone in recess with a little pink binder, drawing away.

And this could have been a depressing story, but my mom has always told my siblings and me that life is all about attitude, that we can either flourish or live with regret. So, in telling this story with this piece in Bogotá, Colombia I decided to bloom.
